WHAT'S HAPPENING IN ST. JAMES?

Remember, we only re-opened the church in August 2021 after two years of inactivity. Pray with us and if you can, work and support us while we grow our ministries. Watch this page as we gradually roll out the following. With the Lord's grace and leading, St. James Presbyterian Church will be known again as a place of Christ-like faith, love, and hope in Visitacion Valley as it was since 1908.

Sunday Worship, Fellowship, etc.

Sunday is a full day for St. James.

First, the Adult Sunday School and prayer time before our worship service.

Since Aug 15, we had been doing our blended church worship intended to draw both young and old towards a moving, Biblically-centered, and Spirit-led life-changing moment at the foot of the Cross! Far from perfect after three Sundays of "soft" opening but getting closer to do what is meaningful and moving for all of us.

After worship, there's always our fellowship time around the lunch table. Blessed with so many good cooks among us, it's always a treat to be fed not only spiritually but also gastronomically! Thanks to our chefs!

After lunch and fellowship, we have the "Worship & Music Jam Session." Only started Sep 5, we hope this will be a gradual process for us to build up our praise and worship team.

For the past three Sundays, the 2021 class of elders and deacons comprising our Interim Session (church leadership council), had been meeting. We're doing this as a way for all of us in the leadership to be clear and united with a shared passion towards doing the ministry vision, plan, and strategies Pastor Fernando is laying as a foundation for the church's future.

May our Good and Faithful Lord and Savior Jesus sustain us with His grace and mercy so we can experience joy, confidence, and purpose doing the work of the Gospel through St. James. Glory to God alone!

Worship & Music Jam Session

After Sunday's lunch fellowship, musicians and singers will jam and rediscover the joys, fun, and purpose in their God-given musical talents. All in our desire of enriching our church worship with a blend of popular hymns and contemporary songs. Little by little, we will build our Praise & Worship Team. Let's make a joyful noise to the Lord!

Church Clean Up

CALLING UP ALL-HANDS-ON-DECK! Not having activities and forced to shutdown by the pandemic for more than 2 years, the house of the Lord needs major clean-up and de-cluttering. We started cleaning and sanitizing the Sanctuary and church office downstairs last August 13. However, all the other rooms of the building need to be cleaned and de-cluttered. Our goal is to make the house of the Lord as safe especially for our kids, comfortable, and welcoming to everyone. Needed repairs are also needed inside and outside the building. Watch out for a clean up schedule for which we need "all hands on deck."
